Hello !
• Yes, indeed, loaded in View mode (from a button in Total Commander). I tried several multipage icons but nope,
only one page is displayed at once.
- I don't get anything similar to IclView. The pages can be viewed with the Next¦Previous page buttons though,
just like in 1.97.2…

Re: Ability to display multipage icons as "Snapshot"
Pierre, thanks for adding this feature in xnview mp.
This new feature only currently works when I load a .ICO from the mp Browser, so that is the problem encountered above. But good to see this feature make it's first start in xnview.
Previews of this new feature in action in XnView MP 0.25:
Ok this is my feedback and requests....
1. It's NOT viewing as a snapshot when I drag n drop any .ICO to the xnview.exe (Clo mentioned) , please add support.
2. I would like a setting for icon snapshots 'to always view as 100% zoom' and auto-pan to the side of the biggest icon, regardless of MP's window size Like in this picture; http://i43.tinypic.com/2w3xd1l.png
3. Furthermore, when you eventually add drag n drop to the xnview mp viewer (GUI ), Could you also add the same snapshot viewing support for drag n drop too. Also when you eventually add Windows file associations into xnview mp, then I would also like to be able to click on an .ico and launch it as snapshot in xnview too (Clo mentioned). I presume you already plan for these things so I'm just serving you a reminder
4. I would like (in some future, no pressure now) if you could add some more settings to this snapshot feature. Such as:
=Add the ability to restrict what pages I see in the snapshot with tickboxes to the following; RGB, 8 bit, 16 bit, 4 bit, 32 bit icons - if present in the icons
=setting to display a 'border' around the snapshot
=When you eventually add 'Export' into xnview mp, I would like an ability to Export any page from the multipage snapshot to a individual png, jpg etc or 'select all' pages in a list and export. In the exact layout way that shelltoys does it here; http://i42.tinypic.com/w2uc8.jpg -should be easy.
So I think it would be better later if you could made a new tab under Options>View for all this stuff or find some.

OK 'icon sort order settings' may take more work, so maybe leave for time being but the other settings would be awesome.budz45 wrote: =icon sort order settings (tickbox; biggest to smallest or vice versa and also unique custom)

=display snapshot horizonally, vertically or diagonally
=display filename & filesize on the snapshot (a tickbox, with text size, position, text colour, bold, italic)

Hello !
• You're right, it works coming from the browser - and ONLY in that case.
- A support for other opening modes is desirable, since I use mainly the buttons of the TC tool-bar to start MP…

Re: Ability to display multipage icons as "Snapshot"
Hi Clo,
The launching snapshot issue should be FIXED now in the recent MP 0.26.1. I tested by draggin' n drop a multipage icon to the "xnviewe.exe" of MP and it opened ok as a snapshot
Which would now leave the other custom visual features of this 'Snapshot' request such as showing file path, text colours etc that I mentioned here; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... =15#p82680 - I think all these other features to support the Snapshot may come later.

Re: Ability to display multipage icons as "Snapshot"
Pierre,
two very small things:
1. In English you should write it as:- View all Icon File's as Snapshot <--- it would be better written like this
------------------------------
------------------------------
2. In the next or future MP beta you could add a prompt for when opening an icon file in the viewer for the first time, this is what I mean:
... and if the user was to tickbox select 'always open icon file's this way' then this would reflect (turn on) the same choice for the "Options" window too

Re: Ability to display multipage icons as "Snapshot"
Pierre,
I just noticed that 'Icon Snapshot' feature does not support Apple's Icon files (.icns)
XnView MP is cross-platform after all, so Mac OS users are going to want to enjoy the 'Icon Snapshot' feature on their platform too. Not just for Mac OS users but Windows users too who want to view .icns as a lovely snapshot in XnMP (myself). Currently the Icon Snapshot in XnMP only supports Windows .ico
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Icon_Image_format
In future you could look into this and add support for .icns icons too. Also you must add 512x512 .icns Snapshot size support because that's the highest Apple's icons can produce (on Win Vista/7 the highest is 256x256).
I have attached a basic Apple .icns which views just fine in both Xnview win and XnMP but currently is not supported under the 'Icon Snapshot'. Here it is:

This is it's 'snapshot' I made with Axialis IconWorkshop;

Re: Ability to display multipage icons as "Snapshot"
Update: Support for ICNS and RSRC icons has since been added (a while back) to the 'Icon Snapshot' of XnView MP, thank you Pierrebudz45 wrote:Pierre,

========================================
Furthermore, just for the interest of this topic,
IcoFX has an Icon Snapshot feature to. So XnView MP, Axialis IconWorkshop and IcoFX all have an 'icon snapshot' feature (I use XnView MP's )
