folks, I'm a new user of XnView image browser, and 'cause I don't want to search the entire forum, please forgive me if some of the topics were already discussed.
XnView deluxe is IMHO missing some useful features, that the free version already has:
e.g.:
- you can choose some EXIF or IPTC information (options / browser / thumbnail label) to be displayed right underneath each thumbnail -- not so in "deluxe"
- the image transfer from camera to computer does work in the free version I use -- not so in the "deluxe" version I am trying (uk-version), although I choose "add XnView as applictions for USB events (camera, scan, ...)"
- in the free version you can write IPTC caption info and save it into a template file for later use, and you can save IPTC info to more than one files at once -- not so in the "deluxe" version I downloaded (I know there is something like that function in the "media detector", but as I said, It does not work with my xp-pc and Canon DSLR camera).
- the "transmitting via ftp" feature of the "deluxe" version is very interesting for me as a professional photographer, but for instant access it would be more useful if one could save complete ftp-accounts (not only username and remote directory).
Just my two cents.
comparison: xnview free version vs. xnview deluxe

There is topic What is XnView DeLuxe? which may answer your question.gfrebel wrote:folks, I'm a new user of XnView image browser, and 'cause I don't want to search the entire forum, please forgive me if some of the topics were already discussed.

With version 1.80, XnView has made a big "jump" forward and in some respects it may have "overtaken" XnView DeLuxe. But I guess that XnView DeLuxe will follow, very soon.gfrebel wrote:XnView deluxe is IMHO missing some useful features, that the free version already has:
