For the XnView file browser panes, please add an option to "hide interior beveled edges for panes". This will give the pane edges a cleaner and more modern look and will free up some extra screen space for thumbnails too. Another problem with the bevels is, for dark themes like in my screenshot, the bevels don't blend in well and create a bad look of busy striped edges.
