In view mode, i edit the pic. Hence, ColorInfo could be understood as the palete color info, and if not kept, everything will be grayscale when going to next image. Other interpretations are possible as well. IMHO the name shall be as closely related to the tool name in the menu as possible. Moreover, "Normal" is not telling anything excelpt it's the default behaviour (but how does it behave?), see post of Olivier_G.
Changed since 1.90 ß2. The display of Colour Information and coordinates as a pop-up info-text is no longer saved by default,
neither for the next¦previous image, nor for the whole session with the 1.90 version.
To get the mode you prefer, use that entry with the appropriate flag.
• Same in the French version, and I guess it's largely clear and sufficient. No need to split hairs…

O.k., some more explanation why I want to have changed wordings. (Olivier has explained most of it, already).
Currently we have:
ColorInfo in [View]
0: Normal
1: Keep only with prev/next file
2: Keep always
The setting is about the duration / keeping / quitting of the ColorInfoMode. This is why the naming of the setting shouldn't be just ColorInfoMode. (Or the naming of settings will become inconsistent as soon as you add another setting for the colour info mode since you will have to be more verbose, then).
As Olivier has pointed out, "Normal" means nothing to users because they do not know what is normal.
This is why I have suggested a different name for the setting and different comments for the values. All the rest is the same.

QuitColorInfoMode <value>
0: Quit mode when closing image
1: Quit mode when exiting XnView
2: Never quit mode automatically
0=Reset after current image
1=Reset after current session
2=Do not reset
"Reset" is a close related and almost correct word, here, but it's not clear what is reset. So far I think "quit" is best. (There's other terms like Exit, Cancel, but they all have a slightly different meaning, I think).
Please let people discuss a bit more before deciding. ResetColorInfo is a bit better than what we currently have, but as written above it's not clear at all what is reset.
I don't care that much about the wording "Reset"/"Close", but more about the available options.
I see 4 of them:
0. Reset after current image
1. Reset when closing window
2. Reset when quitting XnView
3. Do not reset (the various suggestions contained 3 of them only and some were different, as I said)
Personally, I just don't want "normal" as description (but normal/default after the description to tell users what's the default setting) and I like the naming "mode" as it tells me it's a mode and not about a dynamic action or whatever And now: Let the games continue
