I like XNview as a picture viewer, not a video player.
It never used to do this but i had to format recently and of course i lost all of my settings, but i definitely was able to scroll through a folder and have it only view pictures and not play songs/videos for me that also happen to be in the folder. I just don't remember how i did that.
How do i disable video and audio playback?

Nevermind, I found it.
Options -> View -> MISC, and i unchecked "play sound" and "Play movie".
Thank you anyways

Thanks for this post. Funny it's almost 2021 and xnView freezes+crashes so badly, when i get to a video while going through pictures, that process killing is the only way.

Re: How do i disable video and audio playback?
I had to use a different approach, and since I can't find more recent responses to this question I decided to make an account here and post it into this old thread.
I went to Tools/Settings/File list/Custom filter and then I copy-pasted all file extensions that are listed under Audio and Video into Exclude. Now I can finally mouse-scroll through my images without audio and video files getting in-between.
