Where are rating stored ?

Hi,

I've been searching the helpfile, but I could not find an answer.

Where are the Categories,Ratings and Colour Labels stored please ?

Are they stored inside the image itself, or in some configuration file ?

... and If they are stored in the image itself, is there an option to keep the image untouched, and store them seperately inside some config file please?

Hello,
For information (and into XnView Windows 1.9X), Categories,Ratings and Colour Labels are only stored into the category.db file.
(under XnViewMP 0.26 beta version, you have the ability to store these data into the xnviewmp data base (xnview.db file) and/or into the image itself.

Now that its been a while, where are all the ratings stores? I am making backups for my photos and they all having ratings using the colors, bookmarks, and numerical rating. I want to back this all up as well in the event I lose my files. I want to be able to restores all their ratings

I presume, not something I get involved with myself myself, that if you locate your database file in Tools > Settings... > Integration, that file will contain your ratings and you should be able to copy it to another computer?

The ratings are and the color labels are stored in the *.xmp
