Crop photo to a specific size in centimetres

Post by akozubay »

Dear Forum members,

Kindly ask your help and assistance to this specific matter, as in the past I was using an older version of “Xnview” software and all was fine.
Now using latest Xnview Classic ver., when I am scanning a specific photograph I would like to have it cropped to a specific size (which I indicate manually) and I cannot.
For example: I am scanning a personal passport size photograph and I want the photo to be equal the size of 3 cm x 4 cm (width x height). Not more, nor less.
How do I get such possibility to crop a photo in cm’s to a desired size ?
Thanking you in advance for your kindest assistance and looking forward to hear from you soonest,
Brgds

I'm not sure what if anything might have changed, I use XnView MP now.

For example: I am scanning a personal passport size photograph and I want the photo to be equal the size of 3 cm x 4 cm (width x height).
One solution would be to scan the photograph, then if necessary crop the scan down to just the photograph, and then use Image > Resize... to scale the image to the desired print size. If necessary experiment with the settings...
