Is it possible to place and lock the Preview Pane below and the same width as the Tree Pane? If so, some clues how to do this would be appreciated.
None of the Preview Pane items need be any wider than the Tree Pane. Preview Pane the full width of the Thumbnail Spread makes for much wasted real estate on the screen. Left side vertical column with about 75%-80% Tree and 20%-25% tabbed Preview Pane would be just great.

Got it!. View > Layout > choice #3.
Thought I had been through all those at least three times already. Better understanding of View menu choices now. Looks great, with tabs for Preview and Histogram.
