Can I update Xnview Classic without uninstalling previous version?

Can I update Xnview Classic without uninstalling previous version?

Hello,
according Xnview Wiki I have to uninstall previous version first: https://www.xnview.com/wiki/index.php/I ... _Uninstall

This update process seems very archaic and time consuming, because after uninstall/install I have to associate files extensions again.

My question is, it is really necessary uninstall Xnview Classic before I install newer version?
