maybe it's not a bug, but i see it as one :)

ctrl+r to refresh a folder is unfocusing the current focused thumb in browsermode.

reproduce:

browser mode
select a thumb
press crtl+r

the picture isnt selected anymore.

even, if no new picture came to the folder.

• Confirmed here with 1.82.3 under XP-Pro.
- The same behaviour existed already in 1.80.3

- I don't know if XnView can remember where the focus was before a "Refresh"…
- So, impossible to say if it's a or a non-fixable lacuna…

hmm...
then it would be better to document that in the menu.
instead, or additional to
CRTL+R = Refresh
F5 isnt documented as a shortcut, (in the menu, imho)

anyway, is there a difference between these two keys? beside the buggy behaviour of CRTL+R

Yes, CTRL+R delete all thumbnails and recreate the thumbnail list
