Open picture dialog: "files of type" filter is bug

«Files of type» filter is buggy in the «Open picture» dialog:

1) run «Open file» dialog
2) move to folder containing both mp3s and images (+ archives & pdfs desirable too)
3) select «All Graphics Files» filter — something is filtered out, but I am still able to access mp3s, pdfs, archives
4) select «All Sound Files» — all files get hidden, even mp3s

P.S. why «sound files» filter is needed in the dialog? o_O

I updated #3: something happens there, but unattended(?) mp3s, pdfs, archives remains (although there rais an error opening them).
