"Description" missing in Thumbnails&Labels

Options -> Thumbnails -> Thumbnail Label -> Add a Custom entry and select "Description" in the >> menu which will create a line called something like "Custom 5: <Annotation>". However, text added by control-d to the "Description" field will not show up when viewing as "Thumbnails & Labels". The "Description" text shows up in the "Description" column when viewing as "Details" or "Thumbnails & Description". In contrast, "Embedded comment" text show up correctly in all views if adding a "Comment" entry to the Thumbnail Label option.
