???: Open with command problem

Irfanview works fine with file associations & whether i use open with or choose file associations in xnview it will only open with windows fax viewer which is labeled as rundll32.exe in task manager. The only way for me to use xnview to view a pic is to open xnview first. For this reason I have switched back to irfanview. Is it my pc or the prog? The only reason I like it is it has the wonderful layout options.

i wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that your previous image viewer was irfanview. i've installed xnview on virgin winxp installs and been amazed at how associations work right away without any messing around with the built-in image viewer. anyway, try this:

start->run->regsvr32 -u shimgvw.dll

Just to make sure: Are you using XnView Version 1.80 RC6?
