Canvas resize adds black lines

Post by dma_k »

Initial setup:
  • XnView v2.48
  • B&W image with 91 pixels width
Steps:
  • Open attached
    sample.tif
    (378 Bytes) Downloaded 118 times
  • Do Image → Canvas size. Set new width to 100px and select Top-Left of Middle-Left or Bottom-Left as image position. Note that background color is white.
Result: Canvas is resized, but 5 black vertical lines are added:

Expected: no black lines.

Notes:
  • Does not happen with another width.
  • Does not happen with other image position values.

The problem is still there.
  • XnView v2.50.
  • Open attached test.png.
  • Apply Image→Canvas size with width = 150, position = middle-left.

Result: Image is resized to 150px, but the 3px black line is added on the right side of the image on the beginning (border) of the extension area.

The issue has to do with the odd number of initial width pixels (141px).
