Other is better---

:) Hello !
Everyone voting the compression apps poll?
I'm voting for WinRAR :)
• I did, it's interesting, but I voted “Other”.
- Most certainly, WinRar is excellent, but… not free of charge.
- Now, I'm using the SQX format more and more, because it :
- Has general features as so good as RAR,
- Can be used now freely as a plugin in Total Commander.
- Hence, I'm not bound to correct the language files (those in RAR are not wonders…) since I made the French files, plus the French Help…:P
- The original creators of that format provide a free small soft able to unpack (only) for non-T.C.¦S.C. users. It's available from this page.

ZipGenius is better! 7-Zip is up to 30% better than RAR, have similar/same features that RAR and it's free. More here.

At least...

:) Hello !
- I wrote «…Has general features as so good as RAR…», but according to many tests, SQX is often better…
- I've 7-Zip too as a standalone app., but I don't use it a lot, 'cause isn't very handy. We have a 7-zip plugin for TC too, but not quite bug-free yet, alas…

I don't have any problems with ZipGenius / file manager plugin (but I don't use TC).

Clo,
Can you give me the URL address for this SQX compression format, I want to see if I can get WinRAR's developers to add unpacking support for it.

Thanks.

Update:
Nevermind, I've found it - http://www.sqx-archiver.org/index.html for some reason Google had trouble finding it though.

Free stuff…

:) Hi !

- The URL that Aokromes gives is right, but to get the free appropriate stuff, it's better to visit this page ;)

- Like I said elswhere, the SQX makers - at the Aokromes's link - have a small free standalone unpacker, it could do the trick too, at least temporarily…

- Please, PM me about that format, I could give you a better info which could overflow the topic here…
