Thumbnails and Delphi

Post by pdavit »

First post here and I just wanted to take this opportunity and congratulate Pierre for XnView. Excellent tool! Well done Pierre!

Now, the reason I'm posting this message is because I need some info related to the Delphi library.

I'm a beta tester for Total Commander and Christian (the author of TC) is currently working on a thumbnail view for the above file manager. We (the beta testers) have asked so that thumbnails have no background colour but follow the background colour set on the filelist which of course should be switched to the colour of the current selection if one exists.

This is actually XNView's behaviour which I really like. Now, I was just wondering if there is any chance you can share here the method (i.e. the code in Delphi) with which this colouring can be feasible so that I can pass on this information to Christian.

I'm asking for just the basics and not to share part of XnView's code of course. I hope I'm not asking for too much!

In order to demonstrate my request, here are two screenshots to demonstrate it. You'll see a snap of XnView and one of TC. I'm asking on how is it possible to get ride of the white background colour of TC and follow the black or the colour of the current selection.

TC: http://img91.exs.cx/img91/5567/tc_thumb.jpg

Thank you very much in advance for your help. Keep up the good work Pierre!

No prob! But here: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/pierre.g/xnview/engfl.html I'm getting this: "The windows version have interface for Delphi & Visual Basic."!

In which language is XnView build on? Can we have the method on that language so that we can translate it into Delphi?

In C, but i don't use TObject from Delphi, so it's not the same.
Pierre.
