Yes, GFL is thread safe. You have problems?
When one thread loading pdf-files via gflLoadThumbnail and/or gflGetFileInfomation functions (about 20-30 sec inside) any other threads immediatelly receive "Unknown Format" error from that functions.

Only PDF? Perhaps a problem with ghostscript...
