RC1: Filter "Images" shows .flc files

Post by helmut » Sat Jan 14, 2006 4:13 pm

When using "Filter > Images" , I still see .flc files (FLIC animated picture of AutoDesk Inc.). And when using "Filter > Videos", .flc files are not shown.

I think that .flc files are more or less videos, aren't they?

Matter of number?

:) Hello B. !
Good question. What is the difference between animated image and video?
- IMHO, only the number of frames !
- In a video, you must have around 24 pics ¦second to get the illusion of a continuous motion…
- In animated pictures, generally the number of pics per second is much lower…
- But the border is thin : In example, I've some animated GIFs looking as a video, 'cause they have the minimal requested number of frames ¦ second (~19). However, they could be made from a real original video, then converted into GIF for some convenience of display in Web browsers, for instance…

 Kind regards,
Claude

I found some definition here:
http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/a/animation.html

I think it is OK. We just need to consider how the format is supposed to be used.
