Re: XnViewMP new icon
Some more colour/design ideas for a willing designer....
icon is here (remove .zip);
... I like the goldish colour of the 'DEUS' text which I think would go nice for the eye logo

Looks good and seems pretty "iconifiable"

More inspiration for a forgotten topic...

Something I made (just a mock-up):
I personally like the grey background with surrounding dark grey and I got that idea from a professional looking Paint.NET's logo. This would display well on any UI colour surface. Maybe the center crescent should also have a surrounding grey too. But is the idea good enough, never mind the mock drawing.

I like the eye much better, but I still think the nubbins that represent the eyelashes should look more like eyelashes!

Re: XnViewMP new icon
slight update and declination of the various size icons (all hand pixel hinted)

Hi thibaud
Would you be willing to try a version without the little eyelash nubbins? I just can't seem to warm up to them.

Re: XnViewMP new icon
I've tried a few symbol variations..(on color & neutral bg)
still have a preference for the bottom one.

Hello, thibaud wrote:...still have a preference for the last one.
+1, me too (maybe with a kind of blue spiral into the iris of the EYE , to better meet the spirit of the 1.9X logo ? )

The letters in “xnview” turned out really great.
I also like the effect that makes the reflection on the iris look like an extension of the eyelash:

Re: XnViewMP new icon
Thanks for going to the trouble, thibaud. Good to see what it would look like without the nubs.
No. 2 looks like a little girl with a pretty bow in her hair...
...and No. 3 still looks like a Simpson's chicken to me.
Sorry, but I do prefer the first example. Guess I'll butt out now, though, since the tide is against me...

Re: XnViewMP new icon
The problem with eye is that users don't recognize easily old icon of XnView, i think that this icon is too different from original...
Pfff i don't know, perhaps i'm wrong...
EDITED:
And could you try to replace in this one
with the eyelashes of this one
