[0.33] IPTC/XMP Editing suggestion

Post by mahikeulbody »

It would be nice to have a buttom to reset the form in case you want to add a keyword* to files having some keywords already in order to avoid to have to delete manually all existing keywords into the form.
* or supplemental category or content location names. By the way, the option should be labelled "Add new value to array (Keywords & supplemental categories & content location names)"

It seems to me there are two different use cases :
- to modify individually a selection of files (i.e. without the need to call the IPTC/XMP Editor for each file) => the form is displayed fullfilled with metadata of the current file ; the user modify some fields and 'Save' the file ; multiple selection options don't apply
- to modify some fields of a selection at the same time => the form is displayed empty ; the user fulfill some fields and 'Save all' files ; multiple selection options apply

There is even a third use case : the user want to delete a field (or an item of a list) from a selection...

You could check the way ExiftoolGUI (for example) does all that (I am not saying it offers the best or only way to do it).

You have 'Clear' button for that

Hum... I feel ashamed... :(

But there is my last point to "save" me : how to remove a given keyword from a multiple selection of files (each one having a different set of keywords) ?

It's not possible with 'edit IPTC dialog', only with categories
