I tried to change the shortcut for view mode, "previous file" to "Backspace" (like in classic xnview).
However, it was not possible. Is this a bug?
In contrast, I was able to change the shortcut for "next file" to "spacebar".

Sounds like a shortcut/hotkey issue to be fixed

Re: Shortcut For Previous File = Backspace Doesn't work
Greetings, this is still present in XnViewMP 0.64.
It is not possible to set Backspace as a keyboard shortcut.
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Start XnViewMP
2.) Go to Settings - Shortcuts
3.) Select any entry
4.) Select "Custom shortcut" (below the shortcut list)
5.) Click with mouse into the text field besides "Custom shortcut"
6.) Hit Backspace key
7.) The key will not register, the text field will stay empty and because of this, an erroneous message will show, that the "empty shortcut" has already been set for some other shortcut, which is true, but the problem is that the Backspace key was not registered by that text field.
Running under Windows 7.
If you need any further information, just ask here.
Please fix in the upcoming versions, Thanks.
