The pan tool (which shows the zoomed in area),
Settings > View > Show Pan tool
extends past the screen edges when one zooms in
on really wide or tall images.
Try this:
Show the scroll bars
Tools > Settings > View > Show Scroll bars
open an image,
choose image > resize,
uncheck keep ratio,
and set it's size to 300x10,
zoom in so that the pan tool shows up,
and it extends past the screen,

see the same thing happening on a vertical image,
rotate the image 90 degrees.
even when maximizing or going fullscreen in xnview mp on a 1920x1200 display,
the pan tool window still goes outside the screen.
Maybe the pan tool should be restricted to the width or height of the window,
or there probably is a smarter way of handling it.
Also when one uses the left mouse button to move the zoomed area in the pan tool,
then the red dotted lines stay inside the pan tool window,

but if one moves the image using the scrollbar or right mousebutton (if one has it set to "move picture"),
then the red dotted lines in the pan tool gets offset by 1 pixel.
