Create / File listing variables

Post by frereroy »

Hello,

I like very much the feature Create / File listing and the choice of output to TXT, CSV, and XML.

What the the variables that are allowed?

{Filename With Ext} and {Width}x{Height} work well but {Copyright} and {Resolution}
just give me the literal output.

Thanks

On further exploration I see that the list of variables can be obtained from the Tools / Settings / Browser menu / Insert >>

{IPTC:Caption}, {DPI}, etc. etc.

Would it be a good idea to have this possibility to insert the variables into the Create / File listing menu i.e. add "Insert>>" here also?
Best wishes.

In "Create file listing" dialog of XnView MP 0.61 there are buttons ">" to the right of the edittext fields. There you can find all the variables available.

At the moment it's a bit inconsistent:
In the settings, category "Browser", tab "Browser" the button for displaying and selecting the variables (placeholders) is named "Insert >" and in the "Create file listing" dialog the button has an arrow graphic but no label at all.

Thank you helmut. In the Mac version of 0.61 the buttons are not visible at all in the "Create file listing" dialog but if I click in the empty space to the right I do get the list of variables!

Good to read that you found a "solution". Sounds like a bug in the Mac version. :bug:

EDIT: Thanks for posting the bug as a separate topic.
