Import GPS data from GPX file

Hello,
Should it be difficult to add a "import GPS data from GPX file" function to XnviewMP?
Darktable does this but it creates an xmp "sidecar" file. Furthermore I would not like to use a lot of software to process my photos; XnviewMP is perfect for me to import files from my Smartphone and lot of other things...

The goal would be to add GPS data directly inside the image file (.jpg for example) using a GPX file which has location and time data.
