Speed at which GIF images display

Post by cday »

GIF images viewed on modern computers often step through the images they contain too fast to view the images comfortably.

Could a way possibly be provided to set the speed at which the images display when viewed in XnView MP?

In no way can this option be changed, not today or ever!

that depends on the (Hz) of the monitor or screen, if they are modified (the fps change), this has a serious impact on what is going to be used

this requirement should never be made, so... your request will never have a positive effect for people who work with Gif or animation, like me!

I'm sorry but your request cannot be fulfilled under any circumstances!... because you will harm the people who work on animations

An option to change the delay between successive images from the default value would have no effect unless the value is changed!

I don't know what determines the rate at which successive images are displayed, I am assuming perhaps incorrectly that it is related to the power of the computer on which the GIF is viewed.

But I often find that instructional GIFs, displaying a sequence of steps to follow, often display successive images too quickly to be useful... :(

Edit:

Looks as if the frame rate (or delay between images) is a parameter set in the GIF file, but presumably software displaying a file could modify the values specified.

hi cday

with due respect

You are right BUT I don't see any sense in it, ´cause you would be seeing something that IS NOT BY DEFAULT, so... it doesn't make sense the change

ONLY (hz) and FPS

that depends on the hz and fps as i said before

it also depends about the creator of the animation and the fps he used

exactly is a parameter set in the GIF file from the beginning

no cday... the software can´t modify the parameters of an animation unless it edits them (one thing is to visualize and the other is to edit)
