Wow. How did I miss this post? I have been planning to write this sort of thing since the folder colors made it to the ini. Even built a project plan and UI design. But now I don't have to!
Thank you for this!
Suggestion: tool tips for the various more obscure options.
Thanks again!

Hello again. It would be really great if xnvTweakUI could accept a command-line filename parameter.
I employ several XnView INI files and can't currently use xnvTweakUI with them.
Thanks for listening.

Tool tips are already in my 'todo list'.

I was thinking about using the context-sensitive help as it is really easy to implement with htmlhelp.lib.

Just a sample tool tip text.
What you think?
Great idea. I will add this to next version.JohnFredC wrote:Hello again. It would be really great if xnvTweakUI could accept a command-line filename parameter.

Hello,
2 ckv
Your tool also works under Ubuntu & Wine with the default location (.ini setting source), ...great,
But like JohnFredC said, it would be interresting to have the ability to choose the xnview.ini file so I think that a command-line filename parameter is a good idea too (and without a parameter the default location and .ini filename).
Default Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Xnview\xnview.ini = Default Linux: /home/user1/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/XnView/xnview.ini
Custom1 Windows XP: F:\here\Xnview1.97-1\xnview-3.ini = Custom1ex Linux: /home/user1/here/XnView1.97-1/XnViEw-3.ini
so: xnvtweakui.exe "F:\here\Xnview1.97-1\xnview-3.ini" or xnvtweakui.exe "/home/user1/here/XnView1.97-1/XnViEw-3.ini" or ....

Re: XnView Tweak UI
I did, but that one only has a beta from January. Isn't there a proper release version?

Re: XnView Tweak UI
I changed SelBorderColor and Select previous folder, but they don't seem to make any difference. I changed a couple of other things that did have an effect, so I assume the correct .ini file has been modified. Any ideas anyone?

Re: XnView Tweak UI
SelBorderColor only takes effect when the thumbnail shadow is enabled in XnView settings. You can click the folder thumbnail preview thing in XnView Tweak UI to see how the selected thumbnails are supposed to look like XnView.Squashed wrote:I changed SelBorderColor and Select previous folder, but they don't seem to make any difference. Select previous folder is one of the settings that are very poorly described in XnView Tweak UI and it's not and the description on the wiki is wrong. What it's supposed to do when disabled is, it doesn't automatically select the previous directory you were in when moving to a parent folder.
Here, I made this fancy image that shows the difference => http://i42.tinypic.com/2ed4jg8.png
