0.93.1 unchecked "new files are added at the end of the list" not working

OS: Win 10 1809 64bit DE

In settings > view, "new files are added at the end of the list" is unticked. Still, newly created files (e.g. by "save as") are seen at the end of the file list instead of the position they shall have according to current sort criteria. => Moving to the next image is broken as you're at the end of the list, making it hard to simply go through all images.

To reproduce:
1. Open thumbnails list (browse mode), ensure sorting by name is active and you have several files displayed
2. select 1 file somewhere in the middle, press enter (opens view mode), press F11 to open full screen.
3. Do a change, e.g. using curves, then save as (Ctrl+Shift+S), append something to pre-filled, existing filename, save

Actual behaviour (bug):
4a. press PageDown => nothing happens even though you shall have following files
or
4b. press PageUp => you do not see the original file you just modified, but some completely unrealted file (e.g. from 5 days later)
or
4c. press F11 to close full screen, Enter to switch from view mode to browse mode => File is the last in the list, so you cannot simply select the original file because this is far away and you have to locate it

Expected behaviour: File shall be in the middle of the file list where it shall be due to sorting criteria.
