view - auto image size not working [solved]

hi.

i can only set auto image size to "fit to window". even if i select "only large images", it workjs once for the current image i am viewing, but the moment i navigate to the next image (with arrow keys) then it reverts back to "fit image to window size" (not "large only" anymore).

For "Auto image size" (correct: Auto zoom") there is a temporary setting and a permanent setting. Temporary setting is set in Image mode > View > Auto image size". The permanent setting is set in "Tools > Settings | View > View". By default, permanent setting is set to "Last used" which makes temporary setting and permanent setting match. I guess in your case these two setting for "Auto image size" differ, so please check the permanent setting; probably setting it to "Last used" would be a good choice.

Thank you for the info! It has been a while when I messed with xnview settings, so, I forgot where the perma rule was, and that I set the perma rule back then to "fit image to window". now everything works perfectly

Configuration of XnView is pretty powerful and flexible but it can be much of a challenge, too. Good that your problem could be solved.
