.HEIC Won't Convert or identify as picture

I just downloaded and installed XnConvert from their website and it shows the version to be 1.85.1 - windows x64 (May 12,2020) Lifbformat version 7.40

My sole reason for downloading this software was because I need to take .heic files and batch convert to png or jpeg. When I convert the .heic files they show as errors on the status and are suffixed with "not a picture"

Can you please help me?

Define "soon"; are there plans to implement this any time in the near future? I had been converting my images to HEIC to save space, but I decided to convert them to JPG for compatability, but now I find out XnConvert only supports writing HEIC and not reading it??
