but it's not a renaming tools, image file is loaded to be processed
But it can be and sometimes is used as a powerful batch renaming tool, as by a user today and another recent user who reported unexpected changes in output JPEG file sizes.
An option to skip opening and resaving images that have only been renamed would both enhance its utility and potentially avoid confusion when it is used
without thinking for renaming...

... the resulting files are processed, not just renamed. The file sizes are different, even though I picked "same as original" for file format...
Please use 'batch rename' to only rename files
For that, when no actions are selected, isn't a pop-up needed 'When no actions are selected please use batch rename in the file browser'
And for XnConvert, which doesn't include the function:
'When no actions are selected please use XnView MP 'batch rename' in the file browser'
XnConvert is a brilliant software, why not both maximise its full potential and avoid inevitable confusion when it is innocently used as it often is for renaming!
