Perhaps it's the personal mail notificiation which appears in a popup. That's the only popups that phpBB displays.
Anyone else with problems regarding blocked popups?
*Points to the word "privmsg" in the blocked URL.*
1) Check your private messages, you probably have a new one.
2) Click the profile link and scroll down to "Notify on new Private Message:" and "Pop up window on new Private Message:", make sure to check no on the popup one.
