In a folder of many images XnView will open and display one image upon double-clicking. But down in the folder, double clicking an image brings up the image before it or after it, but not the image I double click. Anyway to correct this? I rebuilt the database through XnView.

Sir, i am viewing thumbnails of the folder contents. The first few thumbnails open correctly to display only that image i double click. But way down in the folder xnviewer get confused and double clicking a thumbnail opens the thumbnail next to that thumbnail. Xnview seems confused. It opens another thumbnail not the one i double clicked.

I thought rebuilding the database info in xnviewer would correct this but it had no effect

In xnview i find a folder of images and open the folder to display thumbnails of all images in the folder. Please understand i am viewing thumbnails if all images in a large folder using xnview.

I dont know what you mean “edit” i don’t edit anything in xnview except file names.

Ive never selected ‘edit’ for anything in xnview except file names.

Yes, no issues with displaying files. The issue is if I double click a thumbnail I might get a single display of another file.

This is working in XnView, not outside XnView. Double clicking a XnView thumbnail MIGHT get me a single view of the wrong file. I say “might” because it doesn’t always happen, especially w upper files in a folder. Its lower files in the folder strangely.

Latest version of Xnview is unpredictable.

1. Open xnview app
2. Find folder of 2000 images
3. view thumbnails of 2000 images in folder.
4. Double click thumbnail image #43 of the 2000 image folder.
5. Xnview opens full screen image #43.
6. Close #43.

7. Double click thumbnail image #1621 of the 2000 image folder.
8. Xnview opens full screen image #1620
9. Close #1620

10. Double click thumbnail image #1902 of the 2000 image folder.
11. Xnview opens full screen image #1903

so the problem is not thumbnail, but edit/view mode open bad file.
If you have a folder of 10 pictures, are you able to reproduce?

Opening a folder of 10 images, double clicking any of these thumbnails works as designed.

in the folder, do you have only images? jpeg?

Yes, only jpg.
