Last year I played with cjxl and transcoded JPGs to JXLs. I remember that lossless transcode created about 20% smaller file and the reverse process with djxl created the original file. Which was just what the developers promised.
Well, I have just updated to XnView 1.4.0 and losslessly transcoded one of my 3,5 MB JPG to get 7 MB (!) JXL. What did I do wrong?
JPG -> JXL lossless creates even bigger file
