Hello,
when changing settings for colors, for example setting white point, the image gets darkened a bit, so changes to color settings can't be properly previewed. Can this behavior be disabled?
In case this is OS-specific: I'm running XnViewMP 1.4.5 Linux on Kubuntu 23.04
Can you disable image darkening when adjusting colors?

Re: Can you disable image darkening when adjusting colors?
I just tried it with different Operating Systems. Windows 10 doesn't show this behavior. The image stays bright when the color-adjustment window is open. But in both Ubuntu (gnome) and Kubuntu (KDE) the image becomes noticably darker, when a menu window is in the foreground.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Kubuntu 23.04
2. Install XNViewMP
3. Open an image.
4. Hit "L" button on keyboard to open the "levels" menu. (or go to menu "image -> "adjust" -> "levels")

Re: Can you disable image darkening when adjusting colors?
Ok, I found a solution / workaround - at least for KDE.
To globally disable this dimming of background when a dialog box is open: In KDE settings -> "Desktop Effects" disable "Dialog Parent" .
Or you could make a "window rule" to just disable desktop effects for XnViewMP: Right click on Xnview title bar -> further actions -> special settings for this program -> add "Block Compositing".
If I understand it correctly, it might be possible for XnViewMP to block compositing.
