What does the jxl Compression setting represent?

I have a question about the jxl compression settings. These allow a value between 0-9 for Compression, but I'm wondering which cjxl setting this should be, because the Effort settings don't match in terms of the numbers:

-e EFFORT, --effort=EFFORT
Encoder effort setting. Range: 1 .. 9.
Default: 7. Higher number is more effort (slower).
--brotli_effort=B_EFFORT
Brotli effort setting. Range: 0 .. 11.
Default: 9. Higher number is more effort (slower).

In XnView MP 1.11.5, when saving an image as JXL and clicking "Options" button, I see

• Lossless compression

• Quality 0..100

• Compression 1..10 (so not 1..9 like you see/saw and which exactly matches LibXL's parameter -e)

I assume "Compression" still equals LibXL's parameter -e because the range is very similar. Is that assumption correct?

Maybe it would help to rename GUI option "Compression" to "Compression/Effort" so the meaning becomes clear by the wording, both for avagerage users (they understand "compression" intuitively but "effort" will leave them puzzled) as well as users with more detailed knowledge (they'd expect "effort" and will be puzzled by "compression" with value range 1..10)
