I'm just learning about using GPS data (from google maps) with image files from my NZ trip.
When I select a group of files and 'paste' GPS data (apparently incomplete: google maps doesn't give altitude it seems), then a duplicate file is created which oddly doesn't have a file creation date...
I saw a reference somewhere to EXIFtool settings to overwrite file rather than duplicate. This might be preferable to me though potentially losing some file data might not be so good.
Can you helpers offer me any more info about using the GPS data tool in XMP?
Thanks Richard
