Complete Batch Combining Tasks
I have many images I want to combine vertically and/or horizontally. I want to combine 3 images vertically for one task, two for another, and so on. I also want to complete multiple tasks at once. How do I do that with XnViewMP?

Or if more convenient, in the file browser Create > Join images...
Two computers and four hands?I also want to complete multiple tasks at once. How do I do that with XnViewMP?
Or, in the case of suitable repetitive tasks, possibly using Tools > Batch convert... and exported Actions tab preset files, or NConvert scripts.

Re: Complete Batch Combining Tasks
On the Batch convert Actions tab there is an option at the bottom to export the set actions in a form that enables them to be reloaded quickly if there is a need to run them again another time on different loaded input files. There is also an option to export the currently set actions for use in a terminal script, but currently it is necessary to add the required file input and output terms.
If you simply need to run the set actions repetitively on different input files, you can do that directly in the same session; loaded actions can also be edited easily using the controls provided on the tab.

I don't see "Join Images" on the Batch Covert option.cday wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 7:11 pmOn the Batch convert Actions tab there is an option at the bottom to export the set actions in a form that enables them to be reloaded quickly if there is a need to run them again another time on different loaded input files. Re: Complete Batch Combining Tasks
My mistake, I think only available in the browser or viewer, as the Batch convert interface would need some modification to accept two or more files to join.
It might, however, be possible with an NConvert script run in a terminal, but that would require some appropriate experience to set up, and as joining images probably isn't currently supported in NConvert, it might be necessary to use a workaround if there is one.
Edit:
I think I recall previously suggesting a way in which simple image combinations might be created in Batch Convert by using a combination of the Canvas resize and Watermark actions, if you can find that post.
This post and the linked post referring to XnView or XnConvert, gives some idea of what might be done if enough time is available, an NConvert script probably required when both images to be joined change every time.
