Applying category rotates thumbnail

Post by toralf » Fri Apr 11, 2014 12:39 am

XnViewMP 0.64 on Win8.1

Applying a category to a picture that is upright with an Exif Orientation 'right-top (6)' rotates thumbnail.

This only happens once to a file, so for testing you'll have to use each time a different picture.

Example:
This thumbnail and preview show the file before a category is applied.

After applying a category, moving to a different image the thumbnail rotates 180deg.
This 2nd screenshot shows the same picture as thumbnail and preview after applying the category, moving to a new picture and coming back to the initial picture.

The thumbnail is now 180deg rotated.

Refresh or restart of XnViewMP do not solve the rotation.
Only a 'Views/Rebuid Thumbnails" rotates the thumbnail back to the correct rotation.

The thumbnail of a picture with an Exif Orientation 'top-left (1)' does not rotate when a category gets applied.

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.66 or later. Could you please try and confirm the bug fix, toralf?
