1.9.2: pdf files with zero dimensions and no thumbnail [Solved]

XnView: MP 1.9.2 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 11 Pro 64bit

The XnView MP browser shows thumbnails for some pdf files but not for others (shows the Adobe pdf application icon).

The pdf's with no thumbnails include these properties in the XnView MP browser:

Width 0
Height 0
Dimension 0 Mpixels
# of bits 0
Print size 0.00x0.00 cm, 0.00x0.00 inches
Images/frames count 0

When I double click a pdf with no thumbnails in the XnView MP browser, I get the error "File can't be loaded!". When I open these files with F3, they open in Adobe Acrobat with no problem and don't have zero dimensions like above!

The files with thumbnails have exif information like this:

Software GPL Ghostscript 10.05.1
Date modified 2025-06-22 - 02:33:56 PM

The files with no thumbnails have no exif Ghostscript info.

I have attached one of the problem files.

Is this an XnView issue or a Ghostscript issue or both? Thanks.

To reproduce:
1. Download the attached file.
2. View the downloaded file in its directory in XnView Browser.
3. Look at thumbnail (none) and image properties (zero width, height, dimension, images/frames count).

Your test file opens normally in XnView MP 1.9.1 and 1.9.2 with Ghostscript 9.50 installed, so probably a Ghostscript version issue, there have been recent posts somewhere that are likely relevant. Tested in Linux Mint DEB versions.

Thanks, cday. I reverted to Ghostscript 9.50 and it works again! Ghostscript problem.
