Empty thumbnail for PDF files

In windows explorer/Thumbnail do you have the thumbnail for PDF?

Yes, for some of the PDF files I can see a thumbnail in MS Explorer. I'm still not clear which program generates the thumbnail.

So you have a component for creating PDF thumbnail, and here XnView doesn't create thumbnail but ask explorer for it!

Have you tried deleting/rebuilding the C:\WINNT\ShellIconCache file? I see a default windows icon when nothing is associated with PDF.
