Here's the symbol set with some more samples. 12 should be the one that you have asked for, Hacker.

For reference, images are numbered, now. 1, 2 & 4 have been substituted by other.

- The ones which I don't like: 4, 6, 10, 12
- 9 doesn't look that nice since it's not centered, 10 is too small.
- My favourite: 2 (same as 7 but filled with some grey)

Please wait a bit more, Pierre. If you need a temporary one for 1.80 RC3, you can surely use 7.

I vote for 9 or "old 2".

Try to check #7 in 1280x1024 "LCD" resolution...

The info symbol for embedded thumbnail is available in RC3, now. :-) Currently, no. "7" is used as icon.

From what I can see, the info symbol is only shown if "Use embedded thumbnail" is selected. For some reason I thought the info symbol would be a general indicator if there is an embedded thumbnail or not.

Is the way the info symbol works, now, o.k. for other people?

Yeah, Dreamer is absolutely right!

IMO "old 2" is best, because it's without that inner frame and the thumbnail isn't sqare.

With LCD and 1280x1024 or even 1400x1050 (my notebook) the actual icon looks almost the same as one of the several "arrow icons".

I think it works fine now.
The symbol reminds the user, that he has checked "Use embedded thumbnails" and of course they're shown.

I don't like the icon (see one post above).

When having a second look at "old 2" it's actually not so bad. The inner, grey frame should stand for the image, but is not really needed. So I'd be happy with "old 2", too.

This one please, Pierre.
The small thumbnail isn't squared - no inner frame.

Helmut, I hope it's OK that I've used your screenshot.

I suggest to display:

- grey symbol if there is embedded thumbnail and "Use embedded thumbnail" is disabled
- black symbol if there is embedded thumbnail and "Use embedded thumbnail" is enabled

and of course:
- no symbol if there is no embedded thumbnail, even when "Use embedded thumbnail" is enabled

Sorry I don't see why it shouldn't be a square? A rectangle inside a square looks wrong because the image and the embedded thumbnail are supposed to have the same ratio (as far as the big square represents the image and the small one represents the thumbnail)
Also my laptop is 1280x800, what does it have to do with the icon? Don't these icons stay the same whichever the resolution?
8 and 9 are good IMO. Not sure if the inner frame is necessary though.

That's right. But the outermost square is just a simple border which all info symbols have. So only if there's an middle, grey square the ratio of that should be the same as the thumbnail's square.

The problem is that these guys have a high resolution but a small screen. Thus each pixel is very small and you can't see the icons right.

What about 8 without the grey square (inner frame)?
