I got into a strange state. As I said, D800 NEF files are really large and slow. XnView got tired and displayed them at about 600px high saying 100%.

This was strange but also a side effect it was really fast. I could PgDn each image and it loads immediately. So it's actually useful for quick review. Seems like it's not reading the whole file ?

I'm on a new batch of D800 36MP RAWs. XV got into its strange state after 15images.

It would rotate wrong, size wrong etc. If I keep going pgup pgdn it would display the same 2 pics in different rotates etc. Size small then full, etc.

Then I finally got it to just display small size. I could view 5pics/s using pgdn. Note usually reading a 36MP takes 0.5s each.
