Anytime XnViewMP starts up, it now takes a long time to startup. It used to be near instant. It doesn't matter which mode it starts up in, it takes a long time.

To test, I uninstalled the latest XnViewMP x64 version from my machine and installed "XnViewMP-084-win-x64.exe" from your old_versions list.

The 084 version opens instantly, as it used to. I can double-click photos in Windows Explorer and XnView will open right away.

I then uninstalled the 084 version and reinstalled the current version. XnView startup went back to very slow, about 8 seconds.

And 0.86? 8sec by starting in browser mode? What do you use in Settings>General>Startup>Mode when...? Do you use Read ahead & Cache behind?

Yes, XnViewMP 0.86 and also 0.87. Settings>General>Startup>Mode is "Normal." I'm not aware of any "read ahead/cache behind" settings that have been set.

and with 0.85? Which windows do you have?

Yes 0.85 also has the issue. Going backwards, 0.84 is the latest version that does not start up slowly.

ok, and do you have all updates of Windows 10? I remember that an update fix a problem with OneDrive folder

Yes, I have a fully patched Windows 10 system with all driver updates as well.

I can confirm, XNView MP takes like, 10 seconds to open any file when double clicking from Explorer (in my case, I use Directory Opus File Manager).

Solution:
I downgraded from Version 0.88 to 0.85, and the problem resolved itself immediately. XNViewMP now opens up lightning fast. I made sure to use Revo Uninstaller to delete leftover files and registry entries before installing the older version.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Fall Creators Update (the newest one as of like, September or November 2017).

You have the problem with 0.86,0.87,0.88?

Having this same issue on win 8.1, xnview mp .89

Any ideas on what's causing it?
