This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.4.0. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

sometime, rarely jpeg xl thumbnail are got corrupted like OP on xnview browser window. I need clearing cache first before it getting fixed somehow. i hope this bug already fixed on 1.4.1.
