I had the same problem with Nvidia and HDR. I was able to resolve it without disabling the internal player by setting the "Vulkan/OpenGL present method" to "Prefer layered on DXGI swapchain" in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I had exactly the same problem. Annoyed me to no end cause it kept turning off my monitor's HDR (which also meant taking around 5-10 seconds to refresh the whole display). Can confirm that the .ini change fixes it but it would be nice if the software didn't do that to start with...
