Improved Crop

Post by uberfly »

Would LOVE to see an improved crop interface including easily-selectable ratios and darkened crop-off areas. Something that echoes what acdsee or faststone does. I use all 3 of these apps and for me at least, that is the only thing lacking for my digital image manipulating for printing, etc. Thanks for writing Xnview BTW - I love using it. :D

What about the tabs in the preview pane, like in the deluxe version? Would be great IMO.

Wonderful, thanks.

Another suggestion: are there any plans to add icons to the menu items (main menu and right-click-menu)?
That would make it much easier to find a specific item on the fly.

Yes, will be added for EXIF/IPTC...
But please make preview appear in all tabs, not only Preview.

So not like Deluxe, Preview + Iptc/EXIF view?

I think that a couple of minor tweaks to the IPTC keywords edit page would cause a 2-4X speedup. See thread : http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=5117

add a "hidable" preview panel to the save as dialog.

for example, sometimes we want to save in a lossy format and a preiew would help us choosing the right compression.

another good idea would be having the "write" properties of the file format we chose to save as, on the fly so that the preview could refresh to the changes.

Xyzzy, I think you need to calm down.
Take a break for a while and let things flow.
