Yes, and now it crashed after the first restart of XnView MP even if I don't change any settings
My Notebook (Lenovo Yoga 11s) is running Windows 8.1 x64.
I've also installed the same setup file (XnViewMP 0.68 64bit) on another PC (Win 8.1 Pro x64) and there it's running without any problems.

Clean xniview.ini and xnview.db:
1. Go to Tools | Settings | Integration | Paths
2. Press "Open Config Files location". A window should appear. Leave it open.
3. Press "Open Database location". A window should appear. Leave it open.
4. Close XnView MP
5. Go to window opened on step 2. Delete (rename) the xnview.ini which is in that window.
6. Go to window opened on step 3. Delete (rename) the xnview.db AND thumbs.db which are in that window.
7. Restart the XnView MP and redo the test.
report? with pleasure!! but how?
Go to your User Temp directory. In Windows 7 is C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp (...where C:\ is the OS drive). Dunno on Win8.
There you might find some .dmp files with long names - something like: b5c31108-a495-4800-9125-34147be98a59.dmp
Take them, zip and send them to Pierre via email or PM.

Hmmm.... If I would be in the place of Pierre I would test what's happen on a startup screen/form with a height of 768 pixels.
On the PC on which the program runs ok, you have higher vertical resolution, isn't it?

I use two screens on that PC, one with 1920x1200 and a smaller second one with 1360x768. XnViewMP works on both.
