which MacOS do you have? And please try 1.4.3 again? (you can have the both versions on your desktop)

Could you send your xnview.ini?
And please try 1.4.3 again? (you can have the both versions on your desktop)

I see no SETTINGS option. See my comments in earlier posts in this thread.

Sorry on MacOs, it's XnView>Preferences
