Try Pressing F12, it Goes To Settings
F12 only turns up the volume on my Mac. Is there another key I need to press in conjunction with F12 to get the SETTINGS function to show up?

@BruceHayes: You seem to have two possible problems.

1. Based on your first posts, showing for example the browser window empty, your installation is possibly corrupted. Rather than 'updating' using the Help menu option, I would suggest a clean installation using the forum MP - General Support download, if possible after confirming the download checksum.

2. There is the unanswered question of how to access Tools > Settings... in the Mac version.

You will then be able to examine whether any of the configuration options referred to in my early posts are relevant to the issues you saw originally.

Nothing suggested has worked. I still have the same issues. I tired to install an older version (as this problem started when I updated to the latest version).I downloaded v.1.3.1 from the suggested General Support page (Link below) . However, after installing and opening, then going to ABOUT in the menu, it said the version was 1.4.3.

I should be more clear. What happens is XnView screen goes black and the app freezes rather than crashes. Then I go to the menu and select close XnView. That’s the only way I can terminate the app.I should have been clearer about that from the start.

I will have a look at the older versions.

Thank you.

If v.1.3.1 didn't install correctly when you tried you possibly need to uninstall the existing version, I have no idea how you d that in a Mac.

You are confirming that Mac version 1.4.3 seemed to have a bug, and 1.3.1 seems to work normally?
