could you send me sample files to reproduce?
Which files do you have in XnView folder? Do you use autoplay? Is it in browser tab or image?

Unfortunately, I can’t give an example, but the problem occurs on completely different mp4 and webm files.
The folder accordingly contains 2-2.5k files in mp4 and webm format.
Autoplay is enabled.
The problem when flipping through files occurs during full screen mode and file viewing mode.
There is a problem when creating thumbnails in browser mode, after creating about 1-1.5k thumbnails the program crashes.

P.S. If you have a non-public debug build for logging, I can do this for you.

Are you able to reproduce with a folder containing 3/4 video files?

Is 3/4 required or will any mix work?
If anyone, then I have a working folder with a mix of about 17k files, but I don’t know the exact distribution in videos/pictures, it definitely shows an error when it freezes while flipping through files, but I don’t remember about the error when creating thumbnails, maybe that she wasn't there.

I sent everything that the operating system gave me, what dump did you mean, does xnview write something itself?

When you have a crash, a dialog from XnView is opened and allow to send the crash to my server

no, xnview does not offer any dialogue, the window just stops responding and after some time Windows offers to close it, that’s all

Sorry, I was kinda away, couldnt test that Beta Version. But 1.6.3 is out now. It still crashes for me. Not sure if the frequency of the crashes changed, though. But yeah, now and then it still happens. (OS: windows 10, 64bit, with most recent updates from december 2023 cumulative)

EDIT: If there is any way to debug an Xnview Session, to create something like a crash-log, could you describe/send a link to a tutorial on how to? As one user already said, I don't get any dialogue either. It stops responding and freezes basically. And only way to solve this, is hard-close the program either via task manager or cmd command.

I can also say, that no file is corrupt. Since a few folders were never touched for like 6+ months (means nothing new was added, nor was any image/video edited/modified), and with older versions of xnview they never crashed. This only started recently with 1.62 I think.

I tried the 1.64 portable beta Version you linked me to in private messages. Not sure if the bug is fully fixed, but I could not trigger a single crash/freeze. When switching back to 1.63 (the one which is still installed on my Computer) I could always trigger a crash (always after around 3-5min of browsing, usually). but browsing with 1.64 for 10+ min, I could never trigger a crash until now. I will still test it with more album browsing sessions, though. But so far, it feels good.

Can I get the 1.6.4 Beta as well to see if this fixes my issues. I still get crashes from time to time with the official 1.6.3.
